Community Programs

School Groups

We welcome school field trips on Monday mornings (when the Garden is closed to the public) from late March until the season's end in October. We teach youngsters about the transition from seed to flower, and about worms, composting, and soil. Reservations required. Please contact the Garden:  jeffersonmarketgarden.org@gmail.com

Senior Programs

We welcome organizations for seniors on Monday afternoons (when the Garden is not open to the public) from late March until the season's end in October. We offer history, garden, and ecology programs. Reservations required. Please contact the Garden:  jeffersonmarketgarden.org@gmail.com

Special Events for Children

We offer special events for our neighborhood school children including garden scavenger hunts, butterfly releases, and our annual Harvest Festival in October where children help paint murals and receive their own pumpkins and spooky cookies. Check our website for dates.

Free Summer Music in the Garden

During the Summer, weather permitting, free music programs are offered on the lawn to our visitors. Check our website for dates.

Garden Tours

Special tours on the history of the Garden are available by appointment. Please contact the Garden: jeffersonmarketgarden.org@gmail.com

Wedding Ceremonies

Couples can join a growing list of New Yorkers and take their vows on the Garden's lush center lawn. We can accommodate up to 125 guests. If you are interested in planning such an event, please visit our wedding page and contact our wedding coordinator.
